Tough News on Kevin Norrell

I know we had promised an update on Kevin Norrell, and at the time we hoped the news would be positive.  Unfortunately, today, that is no longer the case.

Upon the recent news reported elsewhere, that Kevin was due to be reinstated by coach Wulff and the WSU program, I got in touch with Kevin's father for a detailed update.  I received an e-mail from Kevin's father last night, and he provided the following:

Dear Sean and WSU Blog family,

My family has nothing but love and respect for you and Coug Nation. Due to health and financial issues within the family, and I say this with a heavy heart, Kevin Jr will be staying close to home this year.

Kevin got to experence something special at WSU.  The fans showered him with love.  This was a tough call.

Kevin wishes all the coaches, players and fans nothing but the best.  Our family will keep all you in prayer and we ask you keep us in your prayers as well.

With Great Respect and Love For All,

The Norrell Family

I guess that says it all.  Whether Kevin was going to be in Pullman or not is no longer important compared to a difficult situation for his family.  We extend our hopes and prayers to the Norrell family and wish nothing but the best in a very difficult time.

All for now.  Go Cougs.

Dear Norrell Family,

I wish you the best of luck and am sure things will work out as you hope they will. Nothing is more important than Family.

Sincerely,

Matt Wessel (WSU91)

Tough digs for a kid who has overcome so much in the past semester. I was excited to see him really stretch the field for us this year. Sorry to hear this. Now, don't take this the wrong way, but at least we have a large crop of WRs coming to Pullman in the 2010 class.
Whoa...

Yikes, I wasn't expecting to hear that when I visited this morning! I wish Kevin all the best in his future endeavors. And I hope they can overcome whatever situation it is that necessitated this move. Good luck!
Good luck, Kevin.

I'll be rooting for you wherever you end up landing. I hope the issues your family's dealing with sort themselves out.

Dear God,

As a Coug fan, I've got to ask: Can we catch a F'n break? Please?

Sincerely,

Yep, I am sure there is definitely more to the story than this (I am surprised nothing could be worked out?)....man, bad news thursday has reared his ugly head again......seems we can never catch a break...seems like always 1 step forward, 2 steps back for us smilies/sad.gif
We shouldn't assume anything
written by SeanHawk, January 14, 2010
I can't say because I honestly don't know, but I don't think we should take any of this beyond what has been said. All we can do is pass on what we have been told, and we certainly aren't going to speculate. If there is more to the story, I am sure it will come out over time, but I have A GREAT deal of respect for Mr Norrell. I am taking what he has said at face value. He hasn't given me or anyone else any reason to do otherwise.
Ass-u-me

Let's just remember what assuming does and not give in to speculation, Cougs are better than that!

Kevin-the best of luck to whatever your future holds!

Nice job bloggers. You never can tell these days and the dot-com age of misinformation but you got this one right. Again, too bad about Kevin. Sure hope we get some speed out there!
