Tailgate Location Info

Well, Hooty has officially landed.  This should give you an idea where we will be.  If you look at the picture, you can see one of the main entrances from the baseball stadium.

And here's another shot, straight across from Beasley.  Basically head straight from the baseball field main gate, and we are right there next to the sidewalk.

Tomorrow we will have a banner up so you can't miss it, but you can kind of see it on the pickup right now.  This should at least give you an idea where we are/will be.

Hooty should be up and around by 9 AM, and the rest of us shortly thereafter.

Hope to see you all there, and GO COUGS!

Is your tailgate "kid" friendly?

I have been reading your blog daily for a little more than a year. I am driving up from Kennewick tomorrow with a friend. We will try to stop by and say hello. Keep up the good work.
Kid friendly = YES

There will be adult beverages 'n such, but kids are more than welcome. Hooty's kids and my kids will be running wild, so the more the merrier. Hope you all can make it!
Definitely bring the kids

Plenty of snack, hot dogs, juice boxes for the kids and cold beer for hard working Dads. Hope to see everyone tomorrow.

Chalk up another one for our awesome alumni base; way to pack it up opening weekend.
Give the fans a break

It's Labor Day weekend. Give the fans a break. And remember Wulff is still coaching...so that's a drawback as well.

Lobster > Lopina, hands down. Nice running game Cougs! Defense still sucks.

Unlike many games last year, including the game where we were smashed by Stanford, it feels like we belong on the same field as the opposition. The exception might be the complete futility of the kickoff and punt coverage units. As meager of a positive as belonging on the same field might be, it's great to not be completely embarrassed. The running game looks good and the defense, while giving up some big plays, at least had a few good moments. By the way, not that Lopina's better than Ocho Rojo by any means, but Ocho Rojo looks like crap to me.

Kopravicahater, I've got no problem with the students that might have taken off. I have a problem with the alumni being apathetic as usual. Why not plan your labor day weekend trip to Pullman? Support the team you bitch about.

As far as Wulff coaching being a drawback, thats a complete load of shit. He's the best option the Cougs have at this point.

Anyways, I've lost my buzz. I'm heading to the Coug.

Thank you guys for the mercy of not posting a game thread. I have bee laid over at the houston airport, drinking a little more every time I check the score. Not as bad as last year, thankfully. Sigh.

The Huskies look good.

We still need a lot of work but the game wasn't as bad as the score indicates. Special team coverage
need a lot of work...

Just so you all know, we've been locked out of the site for the past day--hence the reason for no posts..

We're trying to get the issue resolved and probably will as soon as Sean gets back from Pullman.

My favorite quote ever from the Spokesman.
"The defense wasn’t crushed, however, stopping Stanford on its next possession, with safety Eric Block leveling Owusu on a third-and-24, knocking the ball loose and Owusu from the game."

That sounds like playing with an attitude!

Assuming it was a clean hit and Owusu is OK.

What are you smoking?

Lopina clearly had a better handle of the situation when he was in the game. Body language is huge, and Lopina had the swagger. Lobster looked confused and, generally, over-cautious. His throws didn't amaze me, although he had a little more zip on the ball. As far as having the "it" factor, the edge is clearly in Lopina's favor.
Encouraging

That was a monster hit by Block on Chris Owusu. That was a perfect 24 yard pass from Luck to Owusu and Block came in like a torpedo. The whole Coug sideline erupted and the student section around me (3 rows up from 50 yard line) were celebrating like we just scored a touchdown. If we just had decent coverage during kickoffs and punts and were able to stop the run on 4th down conversions, this would've beena really close game.
